What is it?
The NEW “Brooklyn BRIDGE” from Mytek bridges internet/computer audio with the analog world of high end sound. It’s essentially Brooklyn DAC+ with addition of Ethernet and WiFi interface. Brooklyn Bridge plus iPad is all a client needs to start streaming Tidal’s MQA or play local hi-res files.
Designed in New York, the Brooklyn is a reference USB2 DAC, line and phono analog preamplifier and a reference headphone amplifier. It integrates digital and vinyl hi-res playback for reference listening on headphones and speakers. Although the Brooklyn DAC+ looks similar to its predecessor (Brooklyn DAC) it has been completely redesigned inside. All changes guarantee pristine, transparent and very musical sound.
Brooklyn Bridge is identical to Brooklyn DAC+ in terms of audio circuits and performance but has the addition of a built-in Network Streamer. AES/EBU digital input is replaced with an ethernet network connector, a WiFi antena and a USB port for external music hard drive. Just add a tablet (ipad or android) for complete music system to stream Tidal MQA, Qobuz Hi-Res or other streaming services or play local files connected to Brooklyn Bridge USB port. Roon requires additional Roon Core. Like in the Brooklyn DAC+ there is line and phono analog preamplifier and a reference headphone amplifier.
The Bridge’s enhancements provide a means of getting music from Qobuz, Tidal, Deezer, vTuner, Spotify, et al into the DAC over Ethernet or wireless using only an iPad, iPhone, or Android device—no computer or server required—while allowing convenient playback of music files stored in another room or in the cloud. Additionally (and with limitations), the Brooklyn Bridge allows similarly easy playback of music files stored on local digital storage media, without a server or dedicated computer.
How does it work?
Music Streaming: Just add a tablet (iPad/Android) for complete music system to stream Tidal MQA, Qobuz Hi-Res or other streaming services or play local files connected to Brooklyn Bridge USB port. Roon requires additional Roon Core. Like in the Brooklyn DAC+ there is a line and phono analogue preamplifier and a reference headphone amplifier.
D/A Converter: A high-quality DAC chipset (Sabre 9028PRO) and ultra-precise clock ensure the audio reproduction stays true to the original. The redesigned analogue section creates an even better separation of channels and lowers noise level. Brooklyn Bridge provides faithful sound processing that is transparent but also very musical.
The listener can be sure they’ll hear exactly what the artist and the music producer heard during the performance in the recording studio. On top of this, Brooklyn Bridge also functions as an MQA hardware decoder. Popular software such as JRiver, Audirvana and Foobar2000 allows you to use all the advanced features available in the device.
Headphone Amp: This high-performance amplifier achieves precise and dynamic sound even from hard-to-drive headphones. Connect two pairs of classic headphones or one pair of balanced headphones. Fans of vinyl will appreciate the possibility of connecting a turntable directly to the analogue inputs of the DAC. Brooklyn Bridge is equipped with a high-quality phono preamplifier compatible with MM and MC cartridges.
Interface: All digital inputs can be routed into a computer via USB2. This allows connection of external digital sources such as CD Players and digitising ADCs. Universal remote included.
